Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter Review C45785- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt inch and a quarter to two-inch trailer hitch receiver adapter.Many of our customers that have a inch and a quarter hitch on their car, or that's the only size available for their vehicle, have two-inch accessories, and those accessories aren't going to work with that inch and a quarter hitch. Well, this is an easy way to allow you to use those accessories without having to get new ones.The vehicle we have here today is a perfect example of that. The only hitches available for this particular vehicle are only an inch and a quarter in size, but, by using the adapter, you're not going to be limited on what accessories you can use.One of the things that our customers said that they really like about this is once you slide it into the hitch, we'll put your pinning clip through, it's also going to give you a little bit of extra length, and that's going to be perfect for those folding accessories, because you're going to get a little bit more clearance in between that accessory and your bumper.Now, since each hitch and each accessory is a little bit different, the way you're going to be able to find out if this is going to work for you or not is just to take a few quick measurements. The first one that you're going to have to pay attention to is to make sure that your receiver tube on the hitch is deep enough. That way, the back of the shank here on our adapter doesn't bottom out.So, from the center of the pin hole here on the adapter to the end of the adapter, it's going to be one and a half inches. more

Fastway and Diversi-Tech Locking Ball Mounts Adapter Sleeve Review- Video

Basically it's just going to be a sleeve that's going to go inside your 2-1/2" hitch receiver, and it's going to convert it to a 2" so you can use it with the Fastway or Diversi-Tech locking hitch ball mount. It was designed specifically for that, so you're going to be able to utilize both the locking hitch pin that you can buy here at etrailer.com, and also the locking mechanism on your ball mount.So we can actually just slide the sleeve in there, because there is two holes and they are evenly displaced throughout our two here. Blue Ox Hitch Reducer Sleeve Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Blue Ox converter sleeve and what this is going to do is basically going to be able to allow all of your two-inch hitch accessories to go into your two and a half inch hitch receiver. So if you have a work truck, and you've got an SUV, and you've got a really expensive ball mount that you would like to use on both so you don't have to buy two, all you got to do is grab one of these converter sleeves.Blue Ox does make one that's black powder-coated, so it does go nicely with our black truck here. So basically you just want the longer end facing towards the front of your vehicle, so then those holes will line up nicely. Slide that on there, slide it in and you can get those holes nice and lined up. more

Today we're going to take a look at the TorkLift Cannon 48 inch long hitch extension for the three inch Ford Super Duty factory hitches. Now the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that'll fit perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you'll also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you could tow a trailer.This extension piece will extend a 2017 or newer Ford Super Duty factory three inch receiver opening to a two and a half inch receiver opening and it will allow you to clear obstacles such as your bed mounted camper so that you can tow a trailer.It is a nice heavy duty design, so it does let you maintain a high towing capacity. Review of Draw-Tite Hitch Adapters - 3 Inch to 2-1/2 Inch Reducer - 58552- Video
Today we're going to take a quick look at the Draw-Tite Reducer Sleeve. This allows you to use a three inch hitch with two and a half inch accessories, so it just reduces that sleeve that opening down as the name suggests. It's going to have a five eighths diameter pinhole, so we can use that with any pin or locking hip pin that has that five eighths diameter. You can see our outer dimension there is three inches, the inner dimension is two and a half. It's pretty easy to use, just slide it into your hitch and then line that up with the hitch pin holes and your accessory and get that installed. That's really the trickiest part is getting everything to line up all at once, so you definitely don't want to use your finger to do that or else you'll end up like this with a mashed up, bruised finger. more

Review of Roadmaster Hitch Adapters - Dual Hitch Adapter - RM-077-10- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster dual hitch receiver adapter with a 10-inch drop or a 10-inch rise. Now when you're flat towing a vehicle with a motor home, you need that tow bar to be in the safe zone, and the safe zone is when the tow bar cannot be more than three inches above or below level, and the primary purpose of this hitch receiver adapter is to bring that tow bar level or into the safe zone. This adapted has a 10-inch drop, or if you flip it over, a 10-inch rise, and it'll allow you to put that tow bar in that safe zone position.This will also allow you to use a hitch mounted bike rack or cargo carrier while flat towing your vehicle. This is constructed of a sturdy steel. The shank on it, this portion right here, is a solid steel shank. The whole hitch adapter itself is constructed of sturdy steel. more

Review of Curt Hitch Adapters - Hitch Reducer - C45770- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Curt trailer hitch receiver adapter. Now this is going to reduce your two-inch hitch down to an inch and a quarter to work with your inch and a quarter accessories. This is going to fit class three hitches only. With that two inch by two inch receiver and then again unless you use the other side for your inch and a quarter accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. Now one thing to keep in mind with this is that it is going to reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50% or by half, so you don't want to use this in a towing application or for new snow plow attachments.Our receiver adapter is going to be made of a steel construction with that solid two inch shank. It has a nice gloss black powder coat finish, helps to resist any rust or corrosion. more

Reese Hitch Extender Review- Video
Randy: Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Reese line of hitch extenders. Now, these are designed for class three hitches and we've got a 14 or 18 inch option. Essentially, these are going to get us a lot of space between our current pinhole and a new pinhole location can help out in a lot of situations, whether we have a bike rack and a Jeep, cargo carry and a Jeep, where it won't fold up, sometimes we've got in-bed campers and we need to get our step back a little bit further because it's overhung, or maybe we just need something to get our pinhole further out from underneath our bumper, underneath a UTV. At any rate, these'll allow us to move that back without a great sacrifice in our capacity.Now, let's take a second and compare this hitch extender to a lot of the other ones that we offer. Now these hitch extenders are gonna help us out in situations like this. So, when we have either a spare tire on the back of the vehicle, or our hitch is very far underneath the rear of our vehicle, and our bike rack or cargo carrier, whatever it is we're gonna use, is making contact there.By adding in a hitch extender, we're gonna bring that hitch pinhole back and allow us to use all of our accessories, much more easily.Now, the extender's gonna give us an eight inch total extension from the center of our hitch pinhole, to the center of our new hitch pinhole. This is gonna allow us for a lot of space to get those items in place.To install it, we just wanna slide the smaller shank into our receiver tube opening. We're gonna line up our holes. With those lined up, we can take our anti-rattle bolt. Reese Hitch Extender with Step Review- Video
Hey, guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Reese hitch extender with step. This is going to allow us to move our hitch pin hole back 18 inches, plus give us a step to help us gain access to the roof, maybe over our tailgate, or even into an in-bed camper. Now, a couple of other ways our customers have mentioned they like using this step, one guy mentioned in a boat, being able to step up here first, and then step onto your boat makes it a lot easier to get in and out. But I've also seen people use these on the front of the vehicle, if you've got a front-mount hitch. Standing on this can allow you to get into the engine bay a little bit easier and do service, or get up to the windshield and clean it off properly.Now, not only do we get an 18 inch extension from pin hole to pin hole, but we also have a nice step. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve Review- Video
Hey guys. Today we're gonna take a look at Hollywood Racks Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve. This is gonna reduce your 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" receiver down to a 2" x 2" receiver so you can use any of your Hollywood Racks 2" accessories or any other 2" x 2" accessories that you might have on your 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" receiver.Now what's great about how Hollywood Racks designed this reducer sleeve is that we are not sacrificing any of the anti-rattle systems. You can see with our bike rack attached, I'm really shaking it around and it's not budging at all.It has two screws on either side of the sleeve that when you tighten them down, it basically pinches down onto the side of the shank. That's gonna help this sleeve stay in place and help take away any additional rattling.Let's go ahead and take the bike rack off and take a closer look at the sleeve.When you get the bike rack out of your receiver, you just have to loosen up these bolts that I pointed out earlier and we can pull it right off. Review of Hollywood Racks Hitch Adapters - Hitch Reducer - HRHA-2- Video
Today we're going to take a quick look at the Hollywood Racks hitch receiver reducer sleeve. This is going to allow you to convert your two-inch accessory to work with a two-and-a-half inch hitch receiver. Basically, this is just going to slide onto that shank of your accessory and bulk it up so it can fit in that two-and-a-half inch hitch.We'll have two bolts on either side to get that tightened down to our accessory. Those are going to take an allen key to loosen and tighten. This is going to come with that allen key, so we can get it tightened down properly and you don't have to fish around for the right one to fit that or buy a whole set if you don't already have some. That's just going to tighten down there to snug it into place. more

TorkLift SuperHitch Trailer Hitch SuperTruss Hitch Extension Review- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Torklift line of supertruss pitch extension for super hitch trailer hitch receivers. These are available in a wide variety of lengths, anywhere from 21, all the way up to 60 inches. Now the supertruss extended is going to be the perfect solution when we have something such as this. We've got an in bed camper, and really it eliminates the use of the receiver hitch that comes on the vehicle. What we're able to do with that supertruss is get our receiver tube now out here past the end of whatever we've got in the bed of our truck, and it has towing capability. Well, Gen-Y's got a solution for you that's going to allow you to bring that two and a half inch down to two inches, expanding the options of accessories available for you.This adapter's going to measure five and a half inches long, and it's going to be constructed of solid steel. And it has a black powder coat finish to help prevent rust and corrosion. It uses a five eighths inch hitch pin, so it'll work just fine with your currently two and a half inch hitch.Now, when you're ready to use it, you can either slide it into the edge of your hitch, or you can slide it on to the shank of whatever accessory that you need to adapt up to this size.And now, if you're comparing this adapter to others on our website, they're all going to have the similar function. Part number Y02493.We already have it installed on our vehicle here. Let's take a closer look. The main feature about this is the fact that it can take your bike racks, your hitch cargo carriers or your hitch style grills and actually swing them out ninety degrees away from the vehicle to gain either hatch or tailgate access. This works really well with those bike racks that might sit a little too close and even with them tilted away, you can't open the hatch or bike racks where you can't open up the hatch at all.To swing it away, it's a very easy process. You come to the handle here first, lift up, releasing that latch. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima BackSwing swing-away hitch extender for bike racks, part number Y02483.We already have a bike installed on our rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here, take a look at some of the features. The main feature about this extender is of course that it can swing away from the vehicle to gain better hatch access. This is for situations where you have bike racks that are either too close to the vehicle and even when tilting them away you can't open them, or those bike racks that you just can't tilt away at all, and you would have to remove them to get hatch access. To do that, we'll come to the handle here first, release it, and fold it back, and pull out the pin on the side. Then we can swing it out. more

We already have it installed on our vehicle here and we also have the Yakima HoldUp Evo installed on it as well, and let's show you how it works.Starting on the inside here, you first want to release the handle by pulling up like so, and we'll fold that up and out of the way, and then we're gonna pull this pin out just to release it. After that, we'll just push it out. And this is gonna extend it out 90 degrees to the side here, until you hear that click. And now, we have full access to our tailgate to get whatever we need. This is perfect for situations such as tailgating, or just going down to the campsite so you can move your bike racks or your extended grill out of the way and get to what you need. more

Today we're going to review part number HR26. This is the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender. It goes from 2.5 inches to 2 inches and it's 12 inches long. Now, this will let you use a 2 inch hitch mount and accessory in your 2.5 inch trailer hitch. Basically the shank right here will slide into the trailer hitch receiver to reduce the size from 2.5 inches to 2 inches on this end right here. It also will extend your trailer hitch receiver opening 6 inches out from the rear of your vehicle to avoid any obstacles. It gives you extra clearance for hitch mount and accessories such as bike racks or cargo carriers. more
